Frequently asked questions

How do you calculate retatrutide units after reconstitution?
The same way as any lyophilized vial. Concentration is vial mg divided by bacteriostatic water mL. Volume is the amount you are working out in mg divided by that concentration. Units is the volume in mL times 100, because a U-100 syringe puts 100 marks across 1 mL. Example: a 20 mg vial in 2 mL is 10 mg/mL; 4 mg is 0.4 mL, which is 40 units.
Is retatrutide approved by the FDA?
No. Retatrutide is an investigational compound. There is no approved retatrutide product in the United States or anywhere else, no approved labelling, and therefore no established dose, no verified safety profile in general use, and no legitimate consumer supply chain. Anything sold as retatrutide is unapproved material of unverified identity and purity. This calculator converts units and cannot tell you what is in a vial.
How many units is 4 mg of retatrutide?
Only the concentration decides. At 10 mg/mL — a 20 mg vial in 2 mL — 4 mg is 40 units. At 20 mg/mL, the same 4 mg is 20 units. At 5 mg/mL it is 80 units, which is most of a 1 mL barrel. Units are a volume reading, so an answer given without a concentration is not an answer.
How much bacteriostatic water goes into a retatrutide vial?
There is no correct volume to look up. It is a readability and capacity decision: the water has to fit the vial, which for most lyophilized vials is 2 to 3 mL, and it should put the amount you are working out on a mark you can read without guessing. The 'Water to add' mode solves the volume from either a target strength or a target unit mark.
Why does the calculator warn when a draw exceeds 100 units?
Because it will not fit in one standard 1 mL U-100 syringe. With a high-strength compound that usually means the vial was mixed with far more water than the amount suits, or a figure was entered in the wrong unit. It is a backstop against an obvious arithmetic problem, not a safety check — the calculator has no idea whether any figure you enter is sensible.
Does this calculator recommend a retatrutide dose?
